Kombucha is known for it's unique taste and potential health benefits, produced from a simple blend of tea, sugar, and a culture of bacteria and yeast. Join our practical kombucha brewing workshop to learn everything you need to know about making this popular fermented tea beverage at home. In this workshop, we'll explore the essentials of kombucha brewing, from the key ingredients to the necessary equipment. We'll also discuss how the quality of the tea you use influences the final taste of your kombucha.

The workshop includes guidance on the brewing process, from the role of basic water chemistry in tea quality through to knowing when your kombucha is ready to drink. We'll cover the basic biochemistry of fermentation, including the role of oxygen and how to control ethanol levels. Acidity is important in the fermentation process, and we will look at how you can easily measure and monitor pH, and what it really tells you about your brew. Understanding these factors will increase your confidence to brew kombucha safely and successfully at home, reducing the likelihood of encountering problems.

You will get your own JAR to make a batch in the workshop that can become your starter - SCOBY, along with pH/TDS meters, and a bottle of kombucha.
