MARADA - Pinot Gris 2021

This Pinot Gris is planted only 70 cm apart, which forces the roots to grow deeper into the soil. This adds more minerality to the final taste of the wine. Additionally, these vines being close means that they shade each other, which eventually leads to a lower yield and more of the bunches being concentrated at the top, where they get more sun and taste the best. Shaded vines. Lower yield, more minerals, intense wine. A lighter but still expressive grigio less in the style of the Austrians & more the northern Italians. More body than is usual, aromas of lime, chamomile & a sour pear. It has aged in stainless steel for 10 months. The wine is distinctly mineral to salty. Spicy acidity. Spontaneous fermentation, aging on fine lees, unfiltered, unfined. Alc. 12.5%
